I think leadership is very much like dancing. The whole point with being a leader is to make your follower shine. The leader's purpose is to be in control, plan the moves and send the right signals so that the follower shine. And the follower's purpose is to focus on making her best moves while leaving herself led. When all the lights are on yourself, you're dancing on your own.
With all the recipes out there of how to be a good leader, maybe in fact it's all not that complicated. Maybe all you need to do to is to ask yourself: what have I done today to make someone shine? And when you have something to answer to yourself, you'll know you're on the right path.
